NeuroFediverse Rules

NeuroFediverse is a neurodivergent-friendly space. These rules exist to create safety, clarity, and predictability — not to police tone or punish people for honest mistakes.

If you’re unsure about something, it’s okay to ask.

1. Be Respectful and Assume Good Faith

  • Treat others with basic respect
  • Different communication styles are valid
  • Avoid harassment, dogpiling, or hostile behavior
  • Do not intentionally provoke or bait others

Disagreements are allowed. Abuse is not.

2. No Hate or Bigotry

The following are not allowed:

  • Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or similar hate
  • Slurs or dehumanizing language
  • Attacks on people for protected characteristics

NeuroFediverse centers marginalized and neurodivergent people. Hate has no place here.

  • Do not pressure others to respond, explain themselves, or engage
  • Respect requests for content warnings or topic boundaries
  • Do not stalk, harass, or repeatedly message someone who has disengaged

Silence is a valid response.

4. Content Warnings Matter

  • Use content warnings (CW) for potentially distressing topics
  • When asked to add a CW, please do so without argument
  • Avoid surprise graphic or explicit content

This helps everyone self-regulate their experience.

5. No Harassment or Dogpiling

  • Do not organize attacks, callouts, or mass replies
  • Do not shame or mock others publicly
  • Report issues instead of escalating them

Moderation exists so you don’t have to fight.

6. No Illegal or Harmful Content

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Illegal content or activity
  • Threats of violence or encouragement of harm
  • Non-consensual sexual content
  • Exploitation or abuse

These will result in immediate action.

7. Protect Privacy

  • Do not share private or identifying information without consent
  • No doxxing or hinting at private details
  • Respect anonymity and pseudonyms

Your safety and privacy matter.

8. Follow Moderator Guidance

  • Moderators aim to be clear, calm, and fair
  • If a moderator asks you to stop or adjust behavior, please comply
  • Appeals or questions can be made respectfully

Moderation decisions are made with community safety in mind.

Enforcement & Expectations

  • Not every mistake leads to punishment
  • Clear boundaries will be communicated when possible
  • Repeated or severe violations may result in warnings, mutes, or bans

Our goal is harm reduction, not punishment.

Final Note

You are allowed to exist here without performing, masking, or constantly engaging.

If something feels unsafe or confusing, reach out to the moderation team.

Thank you for helping keep NeuroFediverse a calm and welcoming place.
